Hello Readers & Writers,
Despite the hot weather, Betsy is getting ready for autumn. It’s going to be a busy season: she’ll be at the Victoria Festival of Authors in September, and at the Whistler Writers Festival in October.
The Victoria Festival of Authors takes place September 21 – 24 and features readings, panels and workshops.
Betsy looks forward to taking part in Beyond Genre, a panel discussion led by Arleen Paré on Saturday, September 24th. Along with three other panelists, Betsy’s going to talk about moving “effortlessly between the writing of poetry and prose.” If you’ve read her latest book, Oscar of Between: A Memoir of Identity and Ideas (or any of her work, really) you know that Betsy is always pushing the boundaries of genre to create a style all her own. Come hear about the thinking behind such unique writing.
Steven Price, Brian Brett and Steven Heighton will join Betsy on the panel. The four authors will discuss “their own writing, as well as how genre fits into their practice and shapes their projects.”
Sound exciting? For more information and to reserve your tickets, visit the Victoria Festival of Authors website.
